Should I pursue this collaboration? Is this the right direction for my project? Should I apply for this opportunity or wait for another? Decision-making in research and innovation often means balancing competing priorities while navigating complexity and incomplete information.
Together with the FFG and its INNOVATORINNEN programme, we invite you to the next edition of our Career Breakfast series on “Decision-Making”, designed as a compact, energising start to the day. The event combines expert input, interactive group work, and informal exchange over breakfast.
The programme begins with an interactive keynote by Christian Koudela, who will explore what effective decision-making looks like in complex environments and why conventional approaches often reach their limits. Drawing on his practical decision-making framework, he will share new perspectives and practical tools for making thoughtful decisions, even when uncertainty is part of the equation.
Following the keynote, participants move into small, moderated discussion groups to apply key principles of the framework to practical decision-making scenarios. Together, you will reflect on your own experiences, exchange perspectives, and explore different approaches to decision-making in research, innovation, and career development.
The morning concludes with a shared reflection in plenary, where insights from the group discussions will be brought together, followed by an open networking breakfast that offers space to continue conversations, discuss career development topics, and connect with fellow researchers and innovators.
Who is the expert?
CHRISTIAN KOUDELA is the founder of Entscheidungsnavigator and the creator of the NAVIGOS framework. As an author, speaker, and consultant, he helps leaders decide clearly and confidently under uncertainty, through attitude rather than ever more analysis and data. With NAVIGOS, he translates intuition, trust, and courage into a structured process that makes decisiveness learnable as an attitude and as a competence. He is the author of the books "Neue Wege der Führung" (2025) and "Einfach entscheiden" (2021) and hosts the podcast and a Youtube-Channel called “Entscheidungsnavigator”. He lives near Vienna with his family and joined a Irish dance in the late nineties, drawn less to the solo than to the formation, where twenty people hold a rhythm together.
Why join & what to expect?
This Career Breakfast offers practical tools and fresh perspectives for navigating complex decisions. Participants will learn a structured framework, exchange experiences with peers, and leave with ideas they can apply in both their project work and career development.
Who can join?
This workshop is open to researchers and innovators. We especially invite participants of the INNOVATORINNEN programme to join the Career Breakfast.
