Program Overview
This intensive, full-day Workshop is designed as a hands-on bootcamp for participants who already have a concrete idea or an ongoing project and want to take the next step. The agenda is tailored to the group’s needs, with a strong focus on practical work on your own venture.
Possible core topics (flexibly adapted to participants’ needs) include:
- Common Pitfalls: intellectual property and protection strategies, team setup, and funding challenges
- Value Proposition and Customer Definition: Who is my customer, and what problem am I really solving? We sharpen the core of your value proposition.
- Business Modeling: a practical introduction to the Business Model Canvas to structure and visualize your business model development
The format is highly interactive. You will work directly on your project throughout the day, guided by structured facilitation, peer exchange, and focused feedback.
Who is the trainer?
Werner Wutscher is Founder and Managing Director of New Venture Scouting. He has extensive experience with national and international spin-offs and start-ups and serves on the advisory board of Invest Austria, advises the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economics through its Start-up Council, and provides executive leadership coaching. He also works as a speaker, coach, and consultant.
After this Workshop, you will be able to:
- sharpen and stress-test your project idea or current approach through guided, practical work
- define the key elements of a viable business model for your venture
- identify critical assumptions and risks, and translate them into clear next steps
- understand core financing principles and how they relate to your business model
- leave with a concrete action plan for moving your project forward
This Workshop is for Pre- and Post-doc researchers affiliated with a Ludwig Boltzmann Institute, a university or research organization in Austria who already have a concrete idea or an ongoing project and want to strengthen their venture planning skills to take the next steps.
