Represent Your Team with Confidence!
This intensive one-day training is designed specifically for researchers in leadership roles who want to strengthen their negotiation skills within the academic and research environment.
Negotiation in academia is multifaceted: it involves managing expectations from senior leadership, advocating for your team’s needs, and collaborating effectively with peers and external partners. This training is tailored specifically to these challenges.
Participants will explore:
- The three dimensions of negotiation
- The four principles of the Harvard Negotiation Project
- The eight key elements of effective negotiation
A particular focus lies on negotiating on behalf of your team—especially when operating in challenging “sandwich positions” between senior management and team members. Participants will learn how to communicate effectively across hierarchical levels, represent their teams confidently, and negotiate constructively without overstepping formal responsibilities.
Through expert input, structured discussions, and realistic negotiation simulations, participants will gain practical tools they can apply immediately in leadership situations.
